We held Safer internet day today in PDLSB. This global event aims to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology, especially among young people. Our TY Dreamspace ambassador team organised various activities over the week to raise awareness about online safety, cyberbullying, data privacy, digital literacy and AI.
They ran a poster competition, taught first and second year classes and organised a great event today with a visit from Garda Essmay Murphy. She spoke to all of our first years about how to protect themselves from online threats and the legal implications of negative online activity. She also answered student questions about life as guard. Students found it very enjoyable and informative and left with some treats from our team. Huge thanks to Garda Essmay for taking the time to share such valuable information with us.
Students from across the school participated in our poster competition with work on display in the Hall. There were a great array of important messages along with exceptional artistic skills on display. Thanks to Ms. McHale and Mr. O'Brien for judging the competition and to everyone who entered. Congratulations to all the winners and especially Emily Butcher who won a tablet.
