Green Schools slogan competition

Green schools committee raises awareness of effects of transport choices on environment

Green Schools slogan competition

The aim of Presentation De La Salle’s dedicated Green Schools Committee, students and teachers is to increase the number of pupils walking, cycling, scooting, carpooling, using public transport or using park ‘n’ stride instead of the private car on the school run.

By promoting these sustainable transport modes, our school seeks to improve our pupils’ safety, health and fitness. The journey to school is an ideal way for our students to take part in regular physical activity, to interact with their peers, and to develop the road sense children need as pedestrians and cyclists.

An art and slogan competition was held in the school and from it a new slogan was derived for this initiative. ‘Go for a stroll, let’s take control’ and ‘let’s plan it for our planet’.
